The Japanese has yet again invented another cool robot toy. Toy manufacturer Bandai — The ones behind Tamagochi — invented a robotic dog called Smartpet that uses the iPhone or iPod touch as its virtual pet face.
Smartpet can make over 100 different kinds of expressions. How do they say it.. Kawaii desu ne? (It’s cute, isn’t it?). Aside from recognizing your face and voice, it can also learn different gestures through the phone’s front facing camera. The app also allows Bluetooth connectivity to let multiple Smartpets interact with each other.
The free app will be out on the App Store on March 31, followed by its mechanical body, that is expected to be around more or less $80, on April 24.
